The Atem Ensemble, based in Timișoara (Romania), was formed in 2013, with the primary goal to promote, in various chamber formations, the modern and contemporary musical repertoire. Its founding members, soprano Valentina Elena Verlan, flutist Anca-Elena Negruț, clarinetist Cosmin Hărșian, violinist Cristina Mălăncioiu and pianist Victor Andrei Părău, had the privilege to collaborate with esteemed musicians such as cellist Alexandra Guțu, pianist Sorin Petrescu, flutist Matei Ioachimescu, bass singer Martin Wistinghausen. Atem Ensemble is currently formed by Bogdan Preda (flute), Cristian Miclea (clarinet), Cristina Mălăncioiu (violin), Darius Tereu (cello), Victor Andrei Părău (piano).

 

The ensemble has played in festivals such as ”Aurel Stroe” International Festival (BuÈ™teni, Romania, 2013)TimiÈ™oara Muzicală” International Festival (TimiÈ™oara, 2014, 2019), ”Timsonia” Contemporary Music Festival (TimiÈ™oara, 2014, 2018),”Intrada” New Music Festival (TimiÈ™oara, Romania, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023)”Craiova Muzicală” International Festival (Craiova, 2016), SIMN (Bucharest, 2019), Meridian International Festival (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023), Expresiones Contemporáneas International Festival (Mexic, 2021), Parma Live Stage Events (2021), Romanian Music Festival (IaÈ™i, 2022), Toamna Muzicală Clujeană (2023), Cluj Modern (2024). 

 

The Atem Ensemble has offered world first performances of works by Gabriel AlmaÈ™i, Adina Dumitrescu, Erich Hermann, Ciprian Ion, Matthias S. Krüger, Șerban Marcu, Gabriel Mălăncioiu, Martin Wistinghausen, Mihai Popean, Luigi Pizzaleo, Dana Cristina Probst,  Mariana Ungureanu, Bernat Pont Aglada, Andrei Petrache.
